8 Year old birthday and the cookie cake

It will be our sons 8 year old birthday party on 09/06/2014. We decided to make a chocolate chip cookie cake (no nuts) for his class and also for his football team we were going to make a chocolate chip cookie cake … easy enough- we went down the list and did our order. We had baking soda but wanted to get fresh baking soda as that stuff if it isn’t the freshest can really mess up a recipe. Guess what no baking soda …. AM I GOING TO HAVE TO BREAKDOWN AND GO TO A STORE? I really don’t want to but I may have to

There was Ice Cream Delivered as well it was cold and in great shape- I was pleasantly surprised. See video below

  1. That will be a bummer if you have to run to the store to get just that one item, when that is the purpose of signing up for the Amazon service. Question, how long is baking soda good for if left at room temperature? Does putting it in the fridge help/hurt the baking soda?

    1. good question Pat .. I have found that baking soda lasts for quite a while, but if it starts getting old, it can mess with the recipe- I personally will change mine out every couple of months or so (normally a box is $1 or $2)…. not sure about the fridge question though.

  2. I do like the fact that the ice cream bars were ice cold. Hate it when ice cream melts then re-freezes. That’s a big plus for the service.
